Single Track Trails

The single track trails at Forest Lea are designed and used primary for Mountain Biking.  There are roughly 30 kms of single track maintained by volunteers. Trail running and hiking  is allowed on these trails, however be aware there are many rocks, roots and unstable ground. All user of the trails should USE AT THEIR OWN RISK.

The Forest Lea Mountain Biking Trails are suggested for intermediate and advance cross country  riders. In the Canadian Shield, the trails are rough because of the region's unique landscape. There isn't much soil covering the ground, mostly just rocks and trees. The trails wind through this rocky terrain, trying to find smoother paths where they can. But the forest floor is full of rocks and roots, making the trails bumpy and difficult to navigate.

Beginner riders should use Forest Lea Road to access the Pines Trails.

Double wide trails are winter cross country ski trails.

Winter Trails

Please respect our partners the Pembroke and Area Cross Country Ski Club! DO NOT walk, snowshoe or bike on groomed ski trails. They put a lot of volunteer work into keeping the ski trails in good shape so they are safe for our skier friends.

There is a marked snowshoe/fat bike trail on the Crown Land at Forest Lea. It is not maintained or patrolled by PAXC or FLTA. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. It starts to the right of the cabin and is marked with yellow circle snowshoe signs.

At some points the snowshoe trail crosses the ski trail, but at no point does it travel along it. Follow the yellow markers. There are mountain bike and ski trail arrows out there, but only follow the yellow circles. For bikers do not go on the usual summer mountain bike trails (as these travel on the ski trails).

Thank you for your cooperation.
